Mastering the Art of Flawless Concealer: A Game-Changing Technique
Are you tired of battling with concealer that cakes, creases, and settles into fine lines?
Join me as I unveil my latest concealer finds and a revolutionary technique that not only works wonders but also gives you a natural, long-lasting look. No more under-eye issues, just a bright fresh under-eye area that lasts all day!
Primer Power
The key to flawless concealer application is a good primer. I used Lancôme's primer for the undereye area. Applying primer here not only helps your concealer stay put for longer but also prevents it from settling into those pesky fine lines and wrinkles. I applied primer to my entire face to keep my foundation and makeup smooth and long-lasting.
The Concealer Lineup
Okay, I have to admit…My collection of concealers is quite extensive, as I'm sure many of you can relate. From Elf's Can't Stop Won't Stop to Tarte's Ultra Creamy, these are some of the popular choices.
I recently purchased the Cover Girl on a coupon at CVS, which surprisingly was very good, it has a ceramic wand, which took a little getting used to. Of course, there's the Maybelline Classic Eraser, beloved by many for its every day, easy-to-apply sponge tip applicator, and light buildable coverage. I also have a Maybelline stick concealer that is a little old-school. I purchased it because my Channel concealer in Candlelight was discontinued, and this was the closest in texture and color to the Channel concealer. The stick concealer is thicker in consistency and a bit more opaque, and gives you a lot of coverage, so occasionally I will lightly pat this on, sparingly to brighten when my circles are a little more pronounced, and I need more coverage.
The New Routine
Now, here's the game-changer – the concealer technique that has transformed my makeup routine. I started with the NYX Can't Stop Won't Stop concealer, opting for a slightly lighter shade to brighten up my undereye area. But as you might have experienced, sometimes the shade may appear too light. In my quest for a solution, I found that a slightly darker powder didn't give me the desired results. After some experimentation, I discovered a technique that combines concealer and Elf Peach Corrector to correct the shade and brighten the eye area.
The Application Process
To put this technique into action, dot on the NYX Can't Stop Won't Stop concealer and swipe the Elf Peach Corrector right between the two NYX swipes. This not only adjusts the concealer shade but also effectively works to correct dark circles and brighten your eye area. Use a brush to gently blend the two products without working them in completely. Allow them to dry for a few seconds before gently pouncing with a Beauty Blender to blend into the skin.
Setting the Look
After perfecting your concealer technique, it's time to set the under-eye area with powder. I prefer NYX HD in the Banana shade for this purpose, using a small fluffy brush. Simply pat the brush underneath your eye with the powder – avoid rubbing to ensure your concealer stays in place.
The Transformation
With my Mediterranean heritage, I often contend with dark under-eye circles. However, with this technique, one coat is all it takes to achieve impressive results. The best part? Your eye area will appear smooth and last throughout the day.
The Final Touch
In my TikTok video, you'll see that I didn't even apply foundation yet, only concealer! This technique offers a fresh and natural look without needing multiple layers of makeup. Try it out for yourself and share your experience with me. Your under-eye area will thank you for this newfound concealer magic. Say goodbye to the cakey and creased look and embrace a radiant, long-lasting glow.
